The wait for seeing how Disneyfied Marvel’s reigning prince of Badness and Mad Men‘s femme fatale can get is finally over as the trailer of Disney’s The Pirate Fairy has hit the web. Fans of Mad Men and Loki from Marvel’s The Avengers and Thor catch a glimpse of the whole new side to the soon-to-be swashbucklers Christina Hendricks and Tom Hiddleston.
For those needing a refresher, The Pirate Fairy tells the story of when Zarina (voiced by Hendricks) steals the magical Blue Pixie Dust from the fairy home of Pixie Hollow before heading out to a life at sea with the pirates of Skull Rock. Zarina gets a lot more than she bargains for when the dashing pirate James she falls for, not as innocent as he seems, turns out to be the younger version of a villain who will grow up to be known as Captain Hook (voiced by Hiddleston). The Pirate Fairy takes place before that crocodile took his hand. All these shenanigans leave Tinker Bell (Parenthood‘s Mae Whitman) and her fellow fairies, including water fairy Silvermist (Elementary‘s Lucy Liu), garden fairy Rosetta (Smash‘s Megan Hilty), and Iridessa (former Disney Star Raven-Symoné) to come to her rescue.
The majority of the trailer focuses on Zarina and her crew. Hiddleston’s Hook is not actually seen in the trailer but makes a voice appearance that will surely delight his fans who will no doubt flock to the stores to scoop this gem up for viewing with their tiny humans.

The Pirate Fairy is due out this spring on Disney DVD. In the meantime, Hendricks can be seen on Mad Men, which will be entering its last season soon. Hiddleston is currently gracing the West End in Donmar Warehouse’s production of Shakespeare’s tragedy Coriolanus as the titular character.
