Pack your suitcases, TV and film fans. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo could be back for the National Lampoon Vacation series, but this time in TV format.
According to TVLine, ABC may pick-up a new television series based off of the National Lampoon Vacation films from the 80’s. The original films followed the Griswold family led by father Clark (Chase) and mother Ellen (D’Angelo).
If all goes through, Chase and D’Angelo would star in the new series with Terra Nova’s Aaron Kaplan as an executive producer. Though no writer has been found yet, the series will be set to air in the 2015/2016 season.
Since its first debut in 1983, the Griswold family has embarked on four vacation movies. A reboot of the series featuring Ed Helms and cameos by Chase and D’Angelo had been in the works, but was eventually dismissed.
With the new series in line, this will be Chase’s return to the small screen after his departure from NBC’s Community.
