In this Sunday’s new episode ‘Married to the Blob’, The Simpsons will be paying a very sweet homage to filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki.

In the short clip which has been released, we see a drunk and dazed Homer encountering characters similar to the one Miyazaki created in such films as Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro.

Miyazaki, who announced his retirement last year, has a long career in directing animation. On top of the films being portrayed in this week’s episode of The Simpsons, he’s also behind the films of The Wind Rises, Ponyo, and Princess Mononoke.

“Married to The Blob” premieres Sunday night on FOX at 8/7c.
