We have some pretty exciting news coming out of the TCA (Television Critic’s Association) press tour.
Jaimie Alexander is set to reprise her big screen role of Lady Sif on ABC’s mega hit, Agents of SHIELD. Paul Lee, president of ABC, announced Friday that Alexander was set to appear in the fifteenth episode of the series which is to coincide with the February 25th DVD/blu-ray release of Thor: The Dark World. This will mark the first Marvel superhero to appear on the freshman series and will, no doubt, draw a lot of viewers.
Despite the supposed ‘low’ viewership of the series, Lee has expressed his excitement coming into the “back nine” episodes (the ones shot when it got picked up from its initial 13-episode order to 22) remaining. “You’re going to find out who the Clairvoyant is and it’s going to be very, very cool,” he teased. “It did take us a little bit of time to find our sea legs. The key was to really work with the studios and showrunners and figure out how we could have s show that didn’t have Iron Man but did have an incredible amount of the Marvel Universe. It took a little bit of time to figure out the balance between procedural and an arc.”
He went on to say, “I’m so proud of how they’ve arced the last nine episodes [of Season 1].”
Alexander’s previous television credits include Covert Affairs, Nurse Jackie, and her breakthrough role in Kyle XY.
Agents of SHIELD will return from a mini-hiatus on February 5th with the highly anticipated Stan Lee cameo.
