Although series three of BBC drama Sherlock may have only just begun in the U.S, we across the pond have now been without our favourite consulting detective for over a week. Although we are assured by creator Steven Moffat that a fourth and fifth series are in the planning stages, this has not yet been confirmed by the BBC, so who knows how long we are going to have to wait before we see the deerstalker hat again!
This time, however, we have something to keep us busy! Today (January 20) saw the release of a trailer for Sherlock: The Network, a new app that allows participants to become a part of Sherlock’s infamous homeless network.
“So you’re helping out Sherlock now?” John Watson remarks in the promo, featuring none other than Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss, and available for you to view right here!
The app, produced by The Project Factory and Hartswood Films, features new and exclusive video content, as well as allowing fans to find their way through London, interrogating witnesses and collecting evidence for various cases.
“This official Sherlock app contains over 30 minutes of exclusive video content, games, and an entire mystery for you and Sherlock to solve. Answer Sherlock’s messages to source and deliver information to him at 221B Baker Street. Navigate virtual London in search of information. Communicate with Sherlock and others in The Network. The more valuable you are, the higher you will rise in the ranks…” reports App Advice.
Sherlock: The Network is currently only available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, and is available now in the U.K. App store for £2.99, with a planned U.S. release date of next Monday January 27th, priced at $4.99.
