Blink and you’ll miss it! Jesse L. Martin is confirmed to join the cast of the CW’s newest show in the superhero line-up. The Flash crew welcomes Martin on as Detective West.

Martin will be joining Glee’s Grant Gustin, who has takes up the red and yellow as Barry Allen, Central City’s very own superhero!

While Barry was introduced in the parent show, Arrow, this last season, Martin and Gustin will get a chance to share the spotlight without the archer in green. The Flash will give fans and viewers alike a chance to see West and Barry act out their relationship on screen, with West as a trustworthy father figure.

Kind of like Diggs and Oliver, but with less sass. Maybe.

The Flash pilot will be written by DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns alongside Arrow EPs Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti. The episode will be directed by David Nutter, previously of The X-Files.

Stay tuned as we uncover more about our red and yellow blur!
