Whatever happened to predictability? The milkman? The paperboy? Evening TV? Apparently they’ve been hanging out with Uncle Jesse and the rest of the Full House clan while they push Dannon’s Oikos Greek yogurt. John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis) has been the Oikos spokesman since its inception, and I tell you what. He makes strained yogurt look gooooood.
In true Super Bowl fashion, Oikos has upped the ante, so to speak, with their ad, bringing Danny Tanner (Bog Saget) and Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone) on to recreate some of the old nineties magic we all know and love.
In the short teaser, we see Stamos enjoying some yogurt while watching the game. He turns the TV off, and turns to his pals and asks if it’s time for bed, clearly implying that they are all still housemates.
Tanner, Gladstone and Katsopolis may not be the only nineties crew reuniting for the Super Bowl, either. Just last week, Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander and Larry David were spotted shooting in the old Seinfeld restaurant, known as Monk’s. Though nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s entirely possible that we will see those three during game breaks come February 2.
The Super Bowl is a fabulous affair, and the NFL and their affiliates like to drag out the festivities for as long as possible. That is why there are planned Super Bowl shows and events the entire weekend before the game in and around the New York City area. Jake Owen, The Roots, Imagine Dragons, Zac Brown Band, Fall Out Boy and The Foo Fighters are all set to perform that weekend at the Bud Light Hotel; while Band of Horses, the Black Keys and the ever-delightful John Legend will take on the Evenings with Legends shows.
However, the entertainment culmination comes in the form of the Super Bowl performances of The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruno Mars. The whole weekend is sure to be a brilliant barrage of talent and entertainment, setting the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos up for what may just be the most extravagant championship in history.
