TNT has confirmed that it has plans to air Transporter: The Series.

The show is a television adaptation of the hit action style film series starring Jason Statham as a professional courier who drives around taking dangerous missions while eliminating any enemy threats along the way.

The series stars Dexter, Rizzoli & Isles, and Prison Break actor Chris Vance as a professional transporter of both people and cargo who steps into the lead role of Frank Martin. Francois Berleand will be reprising his film role as Inspector Tarconi.

TNT has announced that it will premiere season one – which was originally slated to air on Cinemax in the US – in the fall of 2014. TNT will also air season two of Transporter: The Series, which goes into production this February.

TNT president Michael Wright gave his insight into this highly anticipated action series. “Transporter The Series is a roller-coaster ride with big-screen action, fantastic locations and an extremely charismatic lead in Chris Vance.”

He added: “The Transporter franchise is a proven winner embraced by movie and television viewers around the globe, and we’re proud that TNT will become the television home for fans in the United States.”

Transporter The Series is a perfect addition to TNT’s lineup, as we continue to expand our reach with such action-packed dramas as our upcoming Legends and The Last Ship.”
