17-year-old, 2 time Grammy winner Lorde is realizing the price-tag that comes with fame. After making her first appearance at the Grammy Awards, Lorde flew to her home country of New Zealand where mobs of paparazzi were awaiting her arrival.

According to E! Online, the “Royals” singer took to Twitter to address the issue, stating;  “nz media almost pushed over myself and my family at the airport this morning in order to get their shots. bit of a sad welcome if i’m honest,” but she later deleted the tweet.

Lorde continued the twitter rant commenting on the issue, clarifying that her “anger” was not with her fans, but with the media. “I understand that people of note are supposedly fair game for everyone to photograph and film but that doesn’t make it acceptable.” She later tweeted; “There is a difference between attn from fans, which i love, and the constant, often lecherous gaze that i’m subjected to in this industry,” followed by “I know that success comes with a price tag. it just sucks when you see that in your tiny home country where you previously felt safe.”

It seems as though the teen superstar is having a hard time adjusting to the limelight. We only hope the fame doesn’t go to her head like her fellow teen star Justin Bieber.
