Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is headed to the Wild West… and there’s a chance he might not make it back alive.

The trailer for his latest project, A Million Ways to Die in the West, premiered during the Super Bowl last weekend.

Following the success of Ted, MacFarlane’s second venture to the big-screen seems as equally zany as the idea of a foul-mouthed teddy bear that has magically come to life.

Watch the trailer here:

MacFarlane stars in the film, playing a dopey sheepherder trying to avoid various deathly situations that result from living on the frontier. After his girlfriend dumps him, he finds new love in the form of a beautiful gunslinger, played by Charlize Theron. When her outlaw husband threatens the town, the farmer has to prove that he’s tough enough for the west.

Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris also star in the film. Actor Giovanni Ribisi is also featured, making A Million Ways to Die in the West his fourth project with MacFarlane, including Ted, Family Guy, and Fox’s Dads.

Not only does MacFarlane lend his comedic acting chops to the project, he also co-wrote, produced, and directed the film. The entertainer has proven to be a multi-talented star, from voicing many of the characters on Family Guy to hosting last years Oscars. Not to mention that the funnyman took voice lessons from Frank Sinatra’s coach.

MacFarlane will continue to add to his versatile reputation with the release of his first novel –an adaption of A Million Ways to Die in the West.

The comedy will hit US theaters on May 30.
