As if Spider-Man didn’t already have a handful in his upcoming movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2; it was revealed that possibly another villain will join at least three other super-villains to team up against our super hero.
On Monday, the movie’s director Marc Webb tweeted promoting B.J. Novak’s (The Office) newest book. In the tweet he referenced Novak as “A. Smythe”.
For all of you who are unfamiliar with the comics, Alistair Smyth was a scientist who’s father created a group of robots called the “Spider-Slayers”. After his father’s death, Smythe inherits the robots only to become a “Spider-Slayer” himself.
If Novak joins the cast, he will be the fourth villain added to the movie joining Jamie Foxx (Electro), Paul Giamatti (Rhino), and Dane DeHaane (Green Goblin). Although just a rumor for now, maybe Novak will join the cast in a future The Amazing Spider-Man movie if not the current one. But we will have to wait until May 2nd when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 premiers in theaters.
